Let avocados ripen outside the refrigerator. When still firm but with a slight give when gently squeezed, they are ripe. Brown streaks within are perfectly fine.

My mom makes apple nut cake on special occasions like Christmas and Thanksgiving. And my
Grandmother makes it when she comes down, and that's why I like it so much.

- 2 cups of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 cups of apples

- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup of walnuts
- 2/3 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- Mix ingredients thoroughly.
- Put into a greased pan at 350° for 1 hour.
